Greetings all. Well, another day of mostly clouds with very little rain. Feeling bad for the farmers who need the rain for the crops. Saw a few people at the JUNK-Shun today. Met some really nice people and said hi to some old regulars...who, by the way, are nice too:) We picked up a neat old metal lawn chair tonight, probably about as old as I am. The kind mamaw and papaw would have had in the yard. This one rocks too! Great chairs under a tree but OUCH...don't try to plop down in one that's been out in the sun on a hot summer day:) Also need to unload a couple of old redwood chairs (painted sage green) from the back of the pick-up truck...these have cushions...you won't need to be so particular about where they go. Well the sky has decided to let a little precipataion loose. If you get a chance stop in.

Has it really been that long since I've added anything new to our blog? You know what I think? Maybe, just maybe, aliens from outer space sneaked into our web site, captured my newest blogs and in an attempt to overthrow the universe, are using them to prove their intellectual superiority over all other forms of life! Ahh, actually, I have been too lazy to put anything on:) But the story had you going, didn't it? We still have a great deal of cool stuff at the "JUNK-Shun". There's a neat pair of antiqued twin beds with matching night stands that could be used as is or they could be painted to compliment your own unique style. Stop by and check them out! But don't completely forget about those aliens, cause even though they haven't taken my blogs yet, I still don't trust them (hearing the theme from "The Twighlight Zone" ... for those of us old enough to remember it!) Talk about freaky weather...we had a "Blizzard" at the Junk-Shun today! Yes it was a blzzard, but it snowed junk:) The yard is full of furniture, boxes, and all sorts of neat junk. Those of you who know me personally, realize that when I say junk it is with the highest regard to items that some may not want but others crave and enjoy...and man do we have a bunch! There's patio furniture, dressers, chairs, and all sorts of neat things. So if your craving for good junk has hit overload, stop up and see us. We'll be looking for you! The weather was super today! About the medicine cabinet...we have a neat old vintage bathroom medicine cupboard for sale in one of our outdoor displays. In some ways I hate to see it go as I have a robin who has spent hours in front of it admiring himself:) Talk about a bird with an ego! If you buy the cabinet, the bird goes with it. You could pick up a cape and mask and become the "Caped Crusader" with your own faithful companion. Hard to believe it's been 24 hours since I sat down and jotted a few things down, Was hoping to drive the baseball team to another game, but didn't get the call. Maybe it had something to do with leaving one kid's front teeth embedded in the back of the seat at the red light on Maple Avneue. Parents have no sense of humor when it comes to thier kids dental make up! Hey look at "Alfalfa's" success on "The Little Rascals". This guy might start a new craze. Oh well, got rid of some unique pieces today and had a ball doing it, Did a little mowing as well, beautiful day for it. Hope to see you at the "Junk-Shun" real soon. I didn't have much time to spend at the old "Junk-Shun" today as we went to "Amish" country this morning and I was asked to drive the varsity baseball team to thier game with" John Glenn High School" tonight. The "Scotties" won and afterward we were treated to pizza and brownies by one of the baseball mothers. Cheryl ran the "Junk-Shun" to the best of her ability. You'll have to forgive her, she just doesn't present the same finesse and charm that you are used to from 'yours truly'. But hey, the kid is giving it her best shot...just kidding... she is great at running the place. If you haven't visited us yet, you don't know what you are missing. We're kind of like potato chips, you can't stop with just one visit! So pack up the family sedan and drive on down to the "JUNK-Shun" and let honest Dave match you with something you've always wanted! Tune in tomorrow...same junk time, same junk station (I borrowed that from the TV series "Batman" and kind of rearranged it:) Maybe a cape and mask would help! Had a great day at the old JUNK-Shun today. Sold a glider and three of the wooden crates we had listed . So, I guess if you were thinking about purchasing these items, the time has run out. But don't worry, there is still plenty of junk to go around. Hey old Dave wouldn't leave any of his "Junketeers" without some goodies to collect and cherish. Yes, for those of you who are concerned, the "Barney" bed is still here, but I can feel it in my bones... this baby is about to take off! Hope everyone else had as great a day today as I did. Everyone take care and let God know you love Him! I surely in my wildest dreams never pictured myself sitting in a office chair recording stuff about myself into a computer on a Saturday night. But hey here I am. Had a neat day at the Junk-Shun today met some really nice people and saw a brother of one of Casey's buddy's I have'nt seen in years. Sold a few items, but take heart folks the "Barney" bed is still there. Went to the auction and picked up a few more unique and exciting items. As usual had some good food there, like I really need the extra calories, but hey I'm watching my weight and I like to keep it right out in front of me where I can keep a close eye on it. Hope to see many more stop and check out what we have and visit a spell. Till later! I'm sure all of our devoted fans have been pondering this question. Well let me assure both of you, I am back! The world of junk takes no breaks, nor does it's faithful purveyor, yours truly. We have added a bright purple twin bed to our collection of truly unusual items. This might be a real asset to all the "Barney" fans out there, check it out before it is gone! I picked up an early Rusty Wallace "Miller Light" sign that looks like the Grand Prix car he drove when he won the "NASCAR" Championship. Hey, take a drive and check it out!! Well here I am, back in Ohio. Wow, was that a fast week! I think I could have stayed a few more days, but I guess sooner or later you have to come home. My tip for anyone traveling to Nevada is leave anything that remotely resembles money at home! The slot machines literally grab it out of your wallet and do not give it back Just like bears ... people should be cautioned not to feed them. |
