Fun times and GREAT memories...heading to Yogi Bear Campground near Gatinburg for the next few days...and white water rafting with the family's BEST white water rafting guide...our son Casey (aka the Mountain Man)!
First Leg of our vacation is about to end...we've had such a grand time visiting with family and continuing traditions started many years ago. crafting on the deck... one generation teaching the other...like how to "walk the dog" learning a new trick from the Tweetsie resident magician... decorating the golf cart for the annual Buffalo Camp July 4th Parade... findin' a new swimmin hole (Elk River Falls) ... and creekin' spot (Elk River)!

Arrived in Blowing Rock at my parents cabin on Friday night. Visited Crossnore on Saturday...a residential school and children's home with a wonderful story. Check out their story by clicking on the link. The Blair Fraley shop is beautiful and so much fun to poke through! Income from the resale store supports students at the Crossnore School. Shared a wonderful cup of coffee called a TUXEDO (white chocolate and dark chocolate) from the Miracle Grounds Coffee Shop ... a working vocational classroom for the school. Crossnore is one of the first places we head to when we arrive in North Carolina for our annual 4th of July trip! We're never disappointed. This years finds included a beautiful footed silver platter, several sweaters and a wool skirt for re-purposing into a craft project, several 50's era plastic mini trays in an assortment of vintage colors and shades, an old Golden Book and two white wood tri-legged stands. I'll post pics when we return...
