Anyway "J" saw another purpose in this old piece. A handy hubby fixed the leg, a new coat of paint and some sparkly crystal knobs and voila...it now sits in her dining room as a serving/side table! The vintage fruit print had a broken frame and was well loved...but look how cute it looks after a little TLC hanging above her new/old table! LOVE, LOVE LOVE IT when our old JUNK pieces find a new purpose!! Thanks so much "J" for taking the time to send me pics of your project...you made my day:)
We have some of the most creative customers at the JUNK-shun! One of our regular customers is always amazing me with her repurposing projects. She has that special knack and eye that I can only wish for. This time she bought an old JUNK wood vanity with a broken leg. NOTE...don't pick up a piece by yourself, turn it upside down and swing it into the truck by one leg...it WILL break!.

On most Saturday nights you'll find us in Adamsville, Ohio at Roger's Auction Barn. One of my favorite auctions! Comfortable seating and he runs most items right through the front so there's no pushing and shoving to see the merchandise. Always nice to socialize with our friends and see what good food the church group of the week is serving up. Had the best piece of rhubarb pie this week:)
We found quite a few goodies for the JUNK-Shun too. Filled the van and then Dave had to drive back over with the truck! Posted a few of this week's finds below including the base to an old kitchen cupboard (50.00), an old industrial metal stool (12.00) and several misc. metal shelves and stands. I love the old set of wash tubs! We've used one of these as a cooler ... fill with ice and your favorite beverage! I have this thing about old doors...I love the hardware, the panels and all the different shapes and sizes. Busy taking pics for the website and camera when I became side tracked and started shooting pictures of all the door knobs and latches that were around the JUNK-Shun. I was surprised by the variety! We have lots of doors for sale. Priced from $12-50.00. Inside doors, outside doors, cupboard doors and screen doors. Even have a garage door! Have you thought about using one as a head board or several together as a room divider? How about a garden trellis or archway? Repurposed as benches? Store displays? I've saw them used lots of ways but I have to say my favorite is when I see them all lined up along the side of the JUNK-shun:) Stop by and take a look. Sometime we have quite a few, other times not so many. Right now we have a great supply!
The weather was perfect this week-end! Fall is definitely around the corner. Hit two auctions this week-end. One was a bit better than the other. Found lots of smalls.
Dave was busy Saturday and Sunday. Thanks to all of you who stopped by. Met some new customers and had a chance to catch up with the regulars. We were all hanging out at the Junk-Shun on Saturday afternoon (unpacking and cleaning) when our son Michael stopped by. Phoenix, Casey and Jackie's mastiff took a real liking to Michael and wouldn't quit licking his hair!! He doesn't use product so I'm not sure why the attractions, but she was in love!! I had my camera handy , picture below. Big guy and a Big dog:) We did get the auction boxes sorted and priced. Should have all the goodies out for sale by Monday. Stop by and have a look! I love this pile of old METAL office equipment but don't know what to do with it! I've moved it, rearranged it, moved it again and now it's just all piled up waiting on a spark of creativity. Towering stack consisting of two typing tables, several file boxes, a few filing trays and a couple of lock boxes...all metal and two industrial age office chairs.
I posted it on my current favorite idea website, www.junkmarketstyle.com to see if I could get some ideas on how to use it and a few suggestions have included using the legs off the chairs as side table legs, the boxes as planters and the bins could be decopauged with old paper ephemera. Maybe you can figure out a use for it so it doesn't end up in Dave's scrap pile...the pieces are way to cool to scrap! The entire pile could be purchased for $40.00 (and I'm bettin' Dave would even dicker on that!). Dave can't seem to find the time (or inclination) to blog so I'm still blogging for him. I'm so excited that the website is getting more hits! Thanks to all of you for browsing around.
Today I had two of the nicest ladies call me about items they wanted. It was great fun talking with Dee Dee and shopgirl (nope...she doesn't own a shop:). The country cottage white dresser is sold and so is the 40's era child's rocker. I'm surprised the rocker was here so long...it's adorable. Reminded Shopgirl of one she had when she grew up. I just posted an antique Jenny Lind (or it might be what they call a spool bed) and an antique dresser today. Great price. Both for $70.00! I was browsing around the internet the other night and found the best site. junkmarketstyle.com There is a link on our LINKS page. Tons of interesting "stuff" that others have repurposed and reused. Check it out when you get the time. Time to reboot the laundry and get some ebay listed. Auction tonight!! I'm excited, haven't been to one for over a week:) Dave's been too busy to get a chance to blog so I thought I'd do him a favor and blog for him today. Dave and our son, Casey, just picked up a truckload of goodies from a local auction house. Iron beds, antique dressers, lamps, rug, plant stands, pottery and lots of misc. If you go to our LINKS page and click on the Craigslist link you can see them as I get them listed. Just sort the list by newest to oldest. The link will actually take you to our Bonanzle Booth. We love Bonanzle! Free to list and cheap to sell:) It's a great place to park all of the items we have listed over time on Craigslist so that our customers can see them all in one place. I also take care of the Dresden JUNK-shun website as well as do all the listing on ebay, etsy and craigslist. BUT, if you visit the shop, Dave's the one you'll meet. Great guy with a wonderful gift of gab and a sarcastic sense of humor. If you get a chance, drive on over...I know he'd love to meet you and he'd be thrilled if he could help you load a few treasures to take home too! ~Cheryl
