Well Tri-Valley has turned me loose with a bus route for the week. I was ask to drive two weeks but due to our upcoming trip I had to settle for one. Lot of fun hauling children to and from school. Comes with huge responsibilites too. Students have really been helpful in assisting me find all the stops. Cheryl takes the "Junk-Shun" baton when I drive. We have a lot of unique items in stock at the "Junk-Shun" but don't take my word for it stop in and see for yourself. Things like the "Old Spice" vanity, it has ships, anchors, and ships wheels carved into it. It is a really neat piece. Of course it is not really an "Old Spice" product but it reminds you of the neat bottles "Old Spice" is noted for. Stop in and say hey and browse, you'll be glad you did. Anchors away and ahoy maties!

Had a great time today and enjoyed meeting lots of new people! Started out from Trinway at 5:30 a.m....Casey was a good sport about going along to help!
It was so nice to get to walk about and see what the other vendors put out. Even ran into Dave's Aunt Doris from Marietta who was a vendor...something about a horse for a market neighbor who had a bit of a flatuence problem! I ended up buying two old crates and a enamelware dishpan, a yummy walnut brownie and sampled some great peanut butter fudge. Picked up an embroidery project to do if it was slow but never found the time to get into it. Even found a 4 cup Coffee Pot for our upcoming camping trip. Kinda like a treasure hunt...you never know where or what you're gonna find:) Below are some pictures of our spot after we set up this morning. We laughed when we packed up because we knew we sold a lot but the van was as full when we came home as when we left this morning...must of been all the goodies we picked up! I'm so excited...tomorrow is the Flea Market and Craft show formerly known as the Black Hand Gorge Festival. If you've never been, it's worth the trip!! The Dresden JUNK-Shun is going to have a spot for the first time...stop by and see us! Lots of unusual and reasonable items. Packed the old green van FULL tonight. Our son Casey is going to help me out...love the thought of a mother/son day:). The festival is now held east of Newark OH off of RT 16 and is sponsored by the Licking Valley Elementary School. Watch for the signs. Junker's paradise:) And when you're done at the show...head on over to see Dave at the JUNK-shun...it's only another 20 minutes east.
I have a serious addiction...they should call it auction mania! Today I worked on getting the boxes on my back porch sorted and priced for the JUNK-Shun. Made a good dent, but didn't get finished. A little voice in my head said, "check auctionzip.com, I bet Buchanan's are having an auction tonight". Of course when I checked, they were. Now, you need to know that I have enough stuff sitting in my office that needs researched and priced to keep me busy for six months....BUT...off I headed to the auction anyway:) Kinda glad I did. Filled the van and had to call for Dave to bring the truck. No matter what, I'm not leaving the house tomorrow...unpacking and sorting all day long! Well at least until Joe Bob's auction tomorrow night at 5:)
Seems like it's been forever, but hey, I'm back to do a little blogging and a lot of BSing. Wifes been rearranging stuff at the shop, really starting to look good. But a word of caution if you see it in the photos, it may be a while before we find it. Lots of furniture sitting outside at some pretty decent prices. Going to close down for the weekend as we are heading out of town. Gonna run out and see the grandchildren. Middle grand child turning 6, have to be there for that. Papaw can't hardly wait to see all three of them. Nothing beats hugging your grandchildren. I will reopen on Tuesday so try to stay calm until then:) If you aren't able to contain yourself and you must purchase from the outside, just leave your money in the slot on the door. Have a great one.
Today I had to return to the dentist for two fillings:( BUT, the numbing shot always makes my adreneline go crazy. Sooo, since I had to hold down the fort at the JUNK-SHUN anyway (Dave drove the bus for the Cross Country team to their 1st meet) and I was all numb and pumped...I tore into the shop! Boys helped me move some big pieces out and some small pieces around. Cleared out some old JUNK that's been hanging around awhile and priced some new. Still have 3/4 of the shop to go...but at least it was a start. It sure needed it. Dave's great with the customers but his dusting skills need a bit of work! Sharing a couple of photos. I used the colors from an old Scrabble Game Board to come up with the inspiration for this display. Stop by, take a look and tell me what you think:) |
