WE MADE IT! Arrived in Ocala Florida on Thursday night...right before the big snow storm hit Trinway OH!!
Friday morning Dave and I went exploring and to check out a Market that my Dad told us about in Donellon. First Sat. of every month they have a street market in the historical district. Talked with the guy at the knife store who sent us to the chamber of commerce who sent us to a little antique shop where a lady from the historical society works:) Apparently the market is ran by the Historical Society. Asked for a spot and she said someone had just cancelled 15 minutes ago and it was a prime spot...kinda felt like we were suppose to be there:) Paid our $15.00 and headed to 3 second hand/thrift stores we spotted on our drive around town. Picked up some silver trays and candlesticks and a few other odds and ends. Found a little bar/restaurant with a deck over looking the river. So pretty with the spanish moss hanging fromt the trees along the bank. Hope to get back for lunch on a warmer day. They even rent kayaks and canoes AND you can go tubing BUT...don't rivers in FL have alligators? Not sure I want my behind hanging in the water for an alligator to chomp for a snack!!!
Up early this morning and at the market by 7. The van was packed to the gills so it took us awhile to set up. REALLY windy here and the temperature dropped to the 50's from the 60's but the sun was shining and skies were a beautiful blue. We had a great day! Booth was busy from 9-2 and we sold lots!! BUT, when we packed up the van was just as full as when we started:) Oh well, we have plenty for the rest of the markets this week! Sunday we will be at the market in Waldo and Monday at the market in Webster.
The lady that set up 2 booths down from us shared all the markets that are good for her. There is one every day except Friday. It was so nice of her to share...some of the ones we were going to go to were not ones she recommended. Heard lots of great comments about our booth and "junk"...that always makes us feel good. All and all a good day!
