Finally got around to listing the farmhouse table and Cupboard top that we picked up a few weeks ago. I love these two pieces. Came from a customer who was getting rid of some of his family pieces. He had such great memories of his grandparents using some of the pieces...loved hearing his stories:)
When I see these old pieces it makes me wonder what Christmas and Holidays were like for our grandparents and great grandparents. Most didn't have counter space to roll out the pie dough and sugar cookies. The kitchen table was where most of that took place. Kinda low...wonder how their backs handle it??! How on earth did they keep the varmints out of the flour sifter? I would love to talk with someone that really used one.
As much as I love the Hoosier I have, I can't imagine having to use it on a daily basis and not having counter tops:) Thankful God put me on earth when he did and not a couple of generations earlier!!
