P.S. Most of our "finds" are already in our booth at Finder's Keepers in Heath!! Stop in and have a look around:)
Today started off meeting our Facebook Granny Friends and their hubbies at a benefit breakfast for a hometown hero who not only fights for our country, but is also fighting the big "C". Wonderful turnout at our local American Legion where volunteers served breakfast, ran raffles and worked toward the goal of helping out Andrew Prince and his family. Makes us VERY PROUD to be part of such a caring community!! Next stop was Lancaster OH to the Mammoth Indoor Garage Sale held at the Fairfield County fairgrounds....gorgeous sunny day with blue, blue skies...lots of people were ready for the garage sale season to begin! 15 minutes and we were already back to the van with the first load! This nice guy helped us carry our goodies back to the car! Doesn't it make your day when someone goes out of their way to be extra helpful?? Camera setting got bumped and I didn't catch it but you still get the idea how crowded it was:) Shot of the van with all our bargains! And then on to Aurthur Treacher's for lunch...so excited to find this ... Aurthur Treacher's was THE FISH PLACE of our youth! Several of our auction friends have booths at the Old Shoe Factory in Lancaster. Been on the bucket list to go and ....we did! What a nice ending to our day in Lancaster! The staff was VERY FRIENDLY and helpful! As soon as you walked in the door, they told you where the restrooms were, offered you free coffee and cookies and made you feel appreciated! The BEST customer service we've had in a very long time!! Funny how the little things can mean so much!

Beautiful weather made me start cleaning and rearranging before I even had the door unlocked today! Hauling 8 garbage bags of winter's casualties to the trash. For those who've never had the good fortune to visit the DJS Warehouse in all it's glory...posted some pics from today's clean up. For those of you that have already been here....LOL...you know I'm only posting our "good side"!!!
Spent the morning working on our spot at the Social Supper in Dresden. It's still a work in progress but thought I'd share a few photos! Setting up a new SALE area. Everything on the sale wall is 1.00!!! Some of the items were marked down from 15! We have so much at the WAREHOUSE in Trinway to bring to the Social Supper that it's time to clean out with a big sale! New items will be added to the SALE area weekly...be sure to stop in. All items on the cart...1.00 each!! More 1.00 items... and more 1.00 items:)... Half the front window display... and the other half!
So excited! Yesterday we moved into our new spot at Finder's Keepers!! It's called the Log Cabin. Front right corner. Be sure to stop in...lots more room to put more "stuff"!!
Thursday ( March 3) is the annual Pajama Party at Finder's Keepers from 8-11. 10% off everything in the entire store! Bring your friends and enjoy a night out with refreshments provided:) Here's a few pics of our new spot...lots more on the Booth Photos page! Dave and I decided to close up shop and spend the day "exploring" and poking around in places we've always wanted to visit. Use to do that many years ago....take off on a Saturday with an Ohio Gazetteer in hand (before GPS) and go where the wind took us:) So we headed west. Didn't make it to the places we'd thought we'd go...but heck, that's the fun of exploring! First on the agenda...breakfast. We heard there was a "new" restaurant in the old Frazeysburg truck stop. But unfortunately it has closed "due to lack of business":( The original plan was to drive on to Springfield but our full bellies told our brains it was time to head home for a nap! Saving Springfield for another day....
PS: If you want to check out the places we found, here are the ones that have websites: Stone Crest Winery: http://www.stonecrestvine.com/ Green Velvet: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Green-Velvet-of-Granville/177096180896 Granville Farm & Craft Market: http://www.granvillefarmandcraft.org/ Paris Flea Market: http://aparisfleamarket.com/ Powell Liberty Antique Mall: http://visitpowell.com/powell07/content/view/21/37/ Original Hoggy's BBQ: http://www.hoggys.com/bbqa.cfm Wow...everyone was out at yesterday's auction! Fun to connect with some auction buddies that have been under the weather:) Long all day auction. Brought one load back to the DJS Warehouse and another is waiting to be picked up on Monday.
Beautiful Wrought Iron Chippy Painted and Rusty Patio Set! Old Slalom Water Ski. 4 Vintage Wood ladders in different sizes. Wood ironing board with wood legs. 3 wood framed mirrors. Huge coffee table. 2 wrought iron stacking patio tables. Kidney shaped vanity with removable mirror glass top. Stool. Turned leg painted table. Folding book shelf. AND...an adorable rusty steel Garden Chair! Changes are in the air again:) One day, I was explaining to a new customer that the Dresden JUNK-Shun shop has changed in the past year from a retail shop to a place where all our auction items come for sorting, researching and pricing before they leave again for one of the booths. She said, "it's a warehouse then!". I love that description and have been thinking about it for a few weeks!!!
Dave's driving bus more and more these days as a sub for TV Schools ( a good thing:) and we love being able to take off "spur of the moment" to an estate auction or visits with grandchildren. And now that we have the three retail outlets (Finder's Keepers, Social Supper and Berlin Antique Mall) we are on the road more restocking the booths. So, we've decided NOT to keep regular scheduled hours at the Dresden JUNK-Shun any longer. While it means we won't be open our old hours it doesn't meant that our customers and friends aren't welcome anytime they see us there! Feel free to call and make an appointment if you know ahead of time you'd like to come...we'll be glad to meet you at the "warehouse" or take a chance and see if were there...either way we still hope you'll stop by and say howdy! Several of our auction friends have been telling us about a Monday night auction in Old Washington. Soooo...we checked it out! Great Food and well run auction...highly recommend it! Here's some of the loot we bought. Great primitive pieces of wood. LOVE the old pigeon holes! Most of it heading to Social Supper in a few days.
If you've been to the DJS "warehouse" in Trinway you already know we have LOTS of crazy stuff. BUT...this might be the most unusual:) Had a customer in yesterday poking around. She handed me this box and said, "This is a cremation box and there is someone inside it!"
No way!!! How does someone's ashes end up at the DJS? Had to get here in an auction box. I've had this sitting on a shelf with a 4.00 price tag for months...have no idea where it came from. Would love to find the original owner. If you know of anyone that is missing a family member...please let us know. In the meantime...John Doe or Jane Doe or Dog Doe has a place of honor on the Mantle at the Dresden JUNK-Shun:) I love this old dresser! Found a picture of it on a blog where the owner had painted one like it white and then added new knobs. My sister wants one like this for her hall to use for mittens and hats. Wouldn't it be adorable in a bathroom to hold towels and extra supplies? Someone said it would make a neat sink cupboard in the bath too. What would you do with it??? 95.00
