Arrived late to yesterday's auction but WOW...look at these sofas I was able to pick up! Both are at Finder's Keepers in Heath Oh. 65.00 Each. Check out our featured items for lots more photos. Fabric is stained, one more than the other. BUT...great bones and ready for you to recover or slip cover. The wood alone is to die for!

Just back from our booth Finder's Keepers in Heath OH. Made some serious mark downs! We only have the center furniture area for 2 more weeks...sure don't want to haul any of it back to the shop. If you see a piece you are interested in and can't make it over today call over with with your payment info...they can hold it. The nice thing is they are open 7 days a week...till 8:00 every night but Sunday. Easy to get to and easy to load...parking right in front of the store. Link with their address and contact info is on our LINKS page. Here are the pieces we marked down today! Yesterday was the day to reset the booth at Finder's Keepers. Didn't realize that we also have the window this month as well as the center "featured furniture" area!! Dave helped me take over 3 big pieces of furniture but we'll be making a trip back to Heath to get the window ready!! Maybe on Thursday. AppleTree is having an auction...a good excuse to go don't you think??? I love the big white cupboard! Almost kept this one! If you get a chance...stop in at Finder's Keepers and have a peek at our new stuff! Their website is listed on our LINKS page so you can get directions and hours. Happy Sunny Monday!! What is it about the day after that makes us want to start organizing and fluffing our nest? I'm at the DJS today and ready to dig in and do some organizing! If you've stopped in the past year you know it needs it:) All of the operations that happened at home (like sorting and pricing and listing) was dumped (literally) into the shop! We needed the extra room at home AND we really did need to clean out! So...today I'm starting! I'll post as I go along:) It will keep me motivated and inspired if I know you all are following along... Been working on a new blog...click on over and tell me what ya think!
Vintage Serenity Blog Spot and why you're there...please sign up to be a follower! When I reach 25 followers I'm having a drawing (out of those 25) for a $10.00 Bob Evans Gift Certificate! \ Doing a little blog hopping tonight and thought I would check out one of my favorite junking sites. Forgot how great her ideas were. She even has her site set up so that you can click on a piece of "junk" like wood windows and then she has a whole page devoted to uses and reuses! The site is http://www.robomargo.com and here are a few of her ideas for old windows! Tons of old wood windows at the Dresden JUNK-Shun...most are just 5.00 each! Hope her pics and website will inspire you to create something fabulous!! Too cold to work outside or drag stuff in and out for our booths so I've been working on some vignettes to take to the booths once it warms a little and the holidays are over. Also been listing a ton of books on Amazon and pricing and sorting others for the shops.
Spent the afternoon emailing back and forth with a customer over some interesting books we picked up at an estate auction at some point this year. Unfortunately I couldn't tell them where they came from...I'm a procrastinator when it comes to listing books and they tend to pile up for months at a time (as all of you know who've been to the DJS in Trinway!) Anyway, several of the books from this box were from an African American doctor located in Reading Pa in the 1940's by the name of Dr. Terry. Makes me wonder how they ended up at an east central Ohio estate auction! A mystery we may never figure out.... Kids got their 2nd snow day...3 is the max this year and then they'll be making 'em up! Things are quiet here at the DJS today. Working on sorting, pricing and listing all the goodies from the two auctions this week. Stop by if you like poking around in boxes...LOTS of great stuff just waiting for a home!
WOW...it sure was cold but didn't stop the auction crowd:) Gotta love 'em...we sure a die hard bunch! Auction started outside but thankfully finished inside. I filled the van...called Dave to bring the truck. Picking up another truckload tonight...hopefully it will all fit! Lots of great old primitive furniture pieces, stacks and stacks of old cupboard doors and the coolest old china cupboard! Posting a few pics tonight...more to follow as we pick the rest up. Stop by for first dibs:)
Finally got around to listing the farmhouse table and Cupboard top that we picked up a few weeks ago. I love these two pieces. Came from a customer who was getting rid of some of his family pieces. He had such great memories of his grandparents using some of the pieces...loved hearing his stories:)
When I see these old pieces it makes me wonder what Christmas and Holidays were like for our grandparents and great grandparents. Most didn't have counter space to roll out the pie dough and sugar cookies. The kitchen table was where most of that took place. Kinda low...wonder how their backs handle it??! How on earth did they keep the varmints out of the flour sifter? I would love to talk with someone that really used one. As much as I love the Hoosier I have, I can't imagine having to use it on a daily basis and not having counter tops:) Thankful God put me on earth when he did and not a couple of generations earlier!! |
