Left Cumberland this morning and headed to Baltimore. Decided to stop and check in to our campground at Patapasco Valley State Park before we drove into Baltimore. So glad we did! Would have missed a quaint little town...Historic Ellicott City. Built on a hill, with old buildings lining the main street full of shops and antique stores and restaurants and historic museums! Ended up spending the day there instead! Love "stumbling" on little gems that we never knew existed. My heart beat a little faster when I spied this "Junk" shop! Loved the name! Saw the cutest "Cowgirl Wine Glasses". They were jelly jars with lids attached to a crystal candlestick:) A Journey from Junk, Ellicott City MD Quaint Tea Room overlooking the Creek, Tea on the Tiber, Ellicott City, MD Dave liked this Man Cave sign! You can see the back porch of the JUNK Shop in the background. Late lunch at the Ellicott Mills Brewing Company. Picked here because the girl at the Visitor's Center told us about the buy 1 get 1 free dinner coupon! Tried their Micro Brew Sampler (isn't that the cutest way to serve those little glasses???!!)...holding the favorite...Dunkel...liked the Marzen...the Pumpkin Ale was NOTHING like the Blue Moon we had last night and then the Boomerang which was okay:) A first for us...sampling the microbrews! and our campsite for the night... View from Federal Hill overlooking the Harbor in Baltimore. Dave enjoying our free ride on the Harbor Water Taxi...lots of free things to in Baltimore if you ask:) Ended our evening sharing red velvet cheesecake and Salted Caramel Mocha on the balcony of Barnes & Noble watching the sunset over Baltimore...my idea of a perfect date night:) PS...a little side story: So we're sitting on the balcony and down on the walkway a couple is taking pictures of the building...waving at us. So we wave back, they keep waving, we keep waving...they take a picture. Dave laughed and said, "She's probably thinking...look we can make those people do anything!". Well a few minutes later they appeared on the balcony too. We laughed and said, "weren't you the people waving at us". They laughed and said, "thanks for waving back". BUT...they weren't waving at us! LOL...their son had been sitting at the table behind us studying and they were waving at him!! So...when they left...we got a picture of them waving at us! Dave said, "That European family probably thought, "Those crazy wavin' American's!!" LOL...funny what we'll probably remember from that night!

It cracks me up thinking about you two just waving and thinking that complete strangers were waving at you! I would have loved to have witnessed that in person!!!
